Celebrating the Seventh Day of Navratri: Worship of Goddess Kalratri

Noida, March 25: The seventh day of the auspicious Navratri festival is dedicated to Goddess Kalratri, a fierce form of Goddess Durga. According to religious beliefs, this incarnation of Kalratri is known for destroying ignorance, fear, and negative energies.

On this day, devotees perform special rituals to seek relief from life’s challenges. Goddess Kalratri is considered one of the most powerful and destructive forms of Durga. Her appearance is striking, featuring three eyes, disheveled hair, a necklace, and four arms. She rides a donkey and vanquishes demons. Despite her fierce demeanor, she is always benevolent to her devotees, earning her the title ‘Shubhankari’ or the harbinger of good fortune.

Religious texts suggest that worshiping Goddess Kalratri on this day alleviates the fear of untimely death and instills courage, self-confidence, and positive energy in life. Devotees typically bathe in the morning, don clean clothes, and worship the goddess with devotion. Chanting the mantra “Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vichchai Om Kalratri Devyai Namah” during the rituals is believed to yield significant benefits. Offerings of jaggery or sweets made from jaggery are presented to the goddess, as these are considered her favorites.

Additionally, wearing red or blue clothing on this day is deemed auspicious, symbolizing strength and confidence. The spiritual significance of this day is profound, inspiring individuals to combat their inner fears, anger, and negative thoughts. Worshiping Goddess Kalratri grants devotees mental peace, courage, and liberation from life’s obstacles. The seventh day of Navratri emerges not only as a symbol of religious faith but also as a representation of inner strength and positivity.
