Celebrating Sita Navami: Auspicious Timings and Rituals for Devotees

New Delhi, April 24: Sita Navami, also known as Sita Jayanti, is celebrated on the ninth day of the waxing phase of the month of Baisakh, marking the birth anniversary of Goddess Sita. On this auspicious occasion, married women observe fasts to pray for the long life, happiness, and prosperity of their husbands.

According to Hindu scriptures, Goddess Sita was born on a Tuesday under the Pushya Nakshatra. She was married to Lord Rama, who was born on the ninth day of Chaitra Shukla. Sita Navami occurs approximately one month after Ram Navami. This year, the ninth day falls on April 25, and the fast and festivities will take place on Saturday.

Goddess Sita symbolizes purity, sacrifice, and patience. Her blessings bring peace and happiness to families and strengthen the bond between husband and wife.
