Mumbai, July 15: The iconic film ‘Pyar To Hona Hi Tha,’ starring Ajay Devgn and Kajol, has reached its 28th anniversary. On this special occasion, director Anees Bazmee expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the audience.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Bazmee shared a collage of memories. One image features him alongside Ajay, while another showcases the film’s poster. He wrote, “Celebrating 28 glorious years of ‘Pyar To Hona Hi Tha.’ A heartfelt thank you to all the viewers for showering our film with love and making it unforgettable. I also extend my sincere gratitude to the entire team who created this beautiful film, whose memories live on in our hearts.”
Released in 1998, this romantic comedy is said to be an unofficial remake of the 1995 Hollywood film ‘French Kiss.’ The movie was a massive box office success, and its songs continue to be beloved by fans.
Alongside Ajay Devgn and Kajol, the film featured talented actors such as Om Puri, Sunil Grover, Reema Lagoo, Tiku Talsania, and Kashmera Shah.
The story revolves around Sanjana (played by Kajol), whose fiancé Rahul comes to India for work and falls in love with Nisha (Kashmera Shah), leading him to break off his engagement. To win back her love, Sanjana flies from Paris to India. During her journey, she meets Shekhar (Ajay Devgn), a cunning thief. Due to misunderstandings and circumstances, they travel together. To make Rahul jealous, Sanjana asks Shekhar to pretend to be her boyfriend, and during this adventure, they unexpectedly fall in love.
