Gandhinagar, June 12: On the occasion of the completion of 12 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Gujarat BJP organized a special event titled ’12 Years of Trust, Development, and Welfare.’ During this event, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel showcased the achievements of the central government, stating that the past 12 years have marked a new chapter in the country’s development, good governance, and welfare.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Prime Minister Modi has acted as a guardian for 7.4 million street vendors, empowering them towards self-reliance. Under the PM Svanidhi scheme, over ₹17,000 crores have been disbursed as loans to street vendors. Additionally, women entrepreneurs have received more than ₹16 lakh crores through the Mudra scheme.
He noted that a significant number of accounts have been opened under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana to secure the future of daughters. Approximately 46% of beneficiaries of the PM Svanidhi scheme are women. More than 580 million Jan Dhan accounts have been opened across the country, with over 320 million accounts held by women.
Bhupendra Patel stated that the Ujjwala scheme has provided relief to millions of women from illnesses caused by kitchen smoke. Over 100 million women have received gas connections. The government aims to transform over 30 million women into ‘Lakhpati Didis’ and make more than 9.1 million self-help groups self-reliant. Furthermore, the Nari Shakti Vandan Act will ensure 33% participation of women.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the central government’s initiatives for tribal communities. He mentioned that the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda is celebrated nationally, and under the ‘Dharti Aaba Tribal Utkars Campaign,’ development efforts are underway for over 5 crore tribals in 33,000 villages. More than ₹24,000 crores have been invested in the development of tribal areas, with a 243% increase in the tribal welfare budget.
He pointed out the rapid development in areas like Sanand and Dholera in Gujarat. The country’s first high-speed bullet train project is set to launch from Gujarat. A ₹20,000 crore high-speed rail project has been approved to accelerate development in Dholera.
CM Bhupendra Patel noted that schemes like the Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Ayushman Bharat have provided a dignified life to the poor. Benefits of these schemes are being transparently delivered to the people through digital technology and direct benefit transfers. He stated that India has become the world’s largest digital payment system, processing over 660 million UPI transactions daily.
The Chief Minister concluded by saying that under Narendra Modi’s leadership, the political landscape of the country changed in 2014, giving a new identity to development-centric politics. He added that today, not only India but the world recognizes Prime Minister Modi as a global leader.
