Camera Discovered on Railway Track in Bihar Sparks Police Investigation

Muzaffarpur, May 9: A case has emerged involving the illegal installation of a camera near the Sarai railway crossing in the Samastipur division of Bihar. The police have recovered the camera and are conducting further investigations.

Following the discovery of this advanced camera near the railway tracks, law enforcement has heightened its vigilance. According to police reports, a suspicious high-tech IP camera was found installed near the railway signal tower close to Sarai station on the Hajipur-Muzaffarpur rail line. Authorities suspect that the camera was monitoring activities on the railway tracks and the adjacent road.

A police official stated that they are investigating who installed the camera and the reasons behind it. Muzaffarpur’s Railway SSP, Veena Kumari, confirmed the seizure of the camera.

She explained that Manoj Kumar, the station master at Sarai railway station, submitted a written complaint regarding the suspicious camera installation. An investigation was conducted at the site, leading to the camera’s confiscation. The inquiry is ongoing.

Manoj Kumar Singh, the station master at Sarai, reported that on May 7, around 2 PM, the gatekeeper Santosh Kumar informed him that two unidentified individuals had installed a camera on the western high gauge pole and then fled the scene.

Upon receiving this information, the station master alerted the Sarai RPF. When they arrived at the location, they found a solar panel and camera installed at a height on the western pole. The equipment was subsequently seized. The confiscated items included a solar stand camera equipped with an active pixel ID, a SIM card from Geo Company, and a 32 GB micro SD card, along with a small solar panel.
