New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan described the Union Budget 2026-27 as a ‘Developed India Budget’ that aims to strengthen education and create new employment opportunities.
In a video message, Pradhan said, “The Developed India Budget is inclusive and promotes education and job creation while presenting a roadmap for the next phase of development.”
He added that the budget provides a clear outline for the country’s next stage of growth.
The minister highlighted that this year’s budget allocation for education has increased by 8.27 percent compared to the previous year, reflecting the government’s strong commitment to the sector.
Describing the budget as visionary, youth-focused, welfare-oriented, and employment-centered, Pradhan emphasized its foundation on the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, which will especially benefit poor and middle-class families.
He further stated that the budget includes significant and bold investments to strengthen education and develop skills aligned with future needs, impacting every corner of the country.
In the budget speech, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the formation of a high-level permanent committee focused on ‘Education to Employment and Entrepreneurship’. This committee will suggest measures to develop the service sector as a key pillar of a developed India.
