BRS Issues Notice to Former MLA Rohit Reddy Over Drug Allegations

Hyderabad, March 17: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has issued a notice to former MLA Rohit Reddy, seeking his response regarding allegations of drug use. The party has also advised him to refrain from participating in its events.

In a letter addressed to Reddy, the BRS stated, “Through various media reports and other credible sources, the party’s high command has learned of allegations concerning your involvement in drug consumption during a meeting you organized in the Hyderabad region. This news has been widely circulated in the media and has raised serious concerns among the party and the public.”

The BRS, as a responsible political organization, believes in adhering to legal standards and ethical values. The party strongly opposes illegal activities, particularly any involvement with drugs. The allegations regarding your presence and involvement in the aforementioned incident have not only tarnished the party’s reputation but also jeopardized its credibility and trustworthiness.

The letter further states, “As per the instructions of party president KCR, you are required to submit a detailed written explanation addressing the media allegations within seven days from the date of receipt of this notice.”

Soma Bharat Kumar, in charge of party disciplinary matters, has advised Rohit Reddy to avoid participating in party events until the leadership completes a thorough investigation and reaches a final decision.

The letter concludes, “You (Rohit) are instructed to refrain from attending party functions and official activities until further notice. Failure to provide a satisfactory explanation within the stipulated timeframe may result in appropriate disciplinary action against you, as per the party’s constitution and rules.”
