Broncos Eye Browns Pro Bowl Tight End David Njoku to Boost Offense

Denver, March 15: The Denver Broncos are making headlines as they seek to enhance their offense ahead of the 2026 NFL season. After a disappointing 2025 season, the Broncos appear poised to become serious Super Bowl contenders in the AFC.

Despite retaining their roster from last season, the team recognizes the urgent need for playmakers, particularly at the tight end position.

According to The Athletic’s Nick Kosmider, the Broncos are linked to Cleveland Browns free agent tight end David Njoku. After spending nine seasons with the Browns, Njoku could provide quarterback Bo Nix with an essential playmaker at a critical position.

Broncos Interested in David Njoku

Kosmider mentions, “Among the names that could be interesting for the Broncos are tight ends Dallas Goedert and David Njoku and wide receiver Jauan Jennings.” While Goedert and Jennings may be more attractive options, Njoku remains a valuable target.

At 29 years old, Njoku is coming off a challenging season marred by injury. However, he is still a dynamic tight end who could serve as a strong starter over Evan Engram. Last season, he recorded 33 receptions on 48 targets for 293 yards and four touchdowns. In his last full season in 2023, he achieved career highs with 81 catches on 123 targets for 882 yards and six touchdowns.

Although his production has fluctuated, Njoku has consistently been a receiving threat for the Browns, a team that has struggled offensively in recent years.

Having spent his entire NFL career with the Browns, Njoku is now entering free agency, likely seeking a new opportunity. If Broncos head coach Sean Payton and general manager George Paton are looking to bolster Nix’s support this offseason, Njoku could be an ideal free agent target.

Given Njoku’s potential, even in a struggling offense, he could thrive alongside Nix in Denver, possibly leading to another Pro Bowl-caliber season. With a pressing need at tight end and Njoku eager to join a competitive offense, the prospect of him signing with the Broncos this offseason is highly promising.
