Mumbai, March 24: The case surrounding the death of former celebrity manager Disha Salian has once again captured public attention. This time, the Bombay High Court expressed its displeasure over the delay in the final investigation report, directing the government and investigative agencies to submit their findings within 24 hours.
The court questioned why the final report has not yet been filed. During the hearing, when the government cited the need to examine new evidence and requested more time, the court raised concerns about the indefinite postponement of the investigation.
Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, has approached the High Court, seeking to have his daughter’s death classified as murder rather than suicide. He argues that several critical aspects have been overlooked in the investigation, necessitating a fresh inquiry to uncover the truth.
This ongoing court hearing has once again brought the entire case into the spotlight. Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai. Just days later, on June 14, the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput also came to light. Disha had previously managed Sushant, leading to speculation connecting the two cases. The police initially ruled Disha’s death a suicide, claiming she had been battling depression for various reasons.
The family has remained dissatisfied with the police’s preliminary investigation and has consistently raised questions about it. Satish Salian alleges that his daughter was raped and subsequently murdered, claiming there has been an attempt to suppress the case to protect influential individuals.
The petition also questions the role of the Mumbai police, accusing them of hastily labeling the incident a suicide while ignoring forensic evidence, circumstantial details, and witness statements.
The petition calls for an FIR against Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray, although Thackeray has dismissed all allegations as baseless. The High Court’s firm stance now mandates the submission of the report within 24 hours.
