Jaipur, March 25: A bomb threat at the Sri Ganganagar Court complex sent shockwaves through the area on Wednesday. According to police officials, the threat was communicated via an anonymous letter sent through the mail. The letter, reportedly dispatched from a fake address in Kolkata, warned of a bomb explosion within the court premises.
Upon receiving the threat, local authorities and police sprang into action. A bomb disposal squad from Bikaner arrived at the Sri Ganganagar Court early Wednesday morning. Security measures across the court complex were also significantly heightened.
Led by the Superintendent of Police, a team arrived on-site to assess the situation. Subsequently, a dog squad and bomb disposal unit conducted a thorough search of every part of the court complex.
During the search operation, all areas, including lawyers’ chambers in Blocks C and D, judicial officers’ offices, and courtrooms, were meticulously inspected. Security agencies conducted a comprehensive examination of all locations.
After the bomb disposal team declared the area safe, court proceedings resumed. Officials reported that no suspicious items were found during the investigation.
Currently, police are investigating the matter to determine who sent the threatening letter and why. There is also a focus on strengthening security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Meanwhile, security agencies have initiated a probe to identify the sender of the threatening letter. The Cyber Cell and postal department are collaborating on this case, verifying the authenticity of the address in Kolkata from which the letter was sent and attempting to trace the sender.
In the aftermath of this incident, security agencies in the area are on high alert. All access routes to the court complex are under strict surveillance. Security checkpoints have intensified their inspections to quickly detect any suspicious activities. Officials are closely monitoring the situation and have been instructed to act immediately if any threats arise.
According to officials, this is not the first time such a threat has been received. On March 10, the passport office in Sri Ganganagar also received a bomb threat via email at 11:30 AM. This office is located within the postal complex.
At that time, the administration took the matter seriously and acted swiftly. A bomb disposal squad from Bikaner was called in to conduct a thorough search of the area. However, no suspicious items were found during that investigation.
After the investigation concluded and normalcy was restored, the passport office resumed its operations the following day. Currently, police and security agencies are on high alert, taking necessary steps to prevent further incidents.
