Teams from the police, fire brigade, bomb squad, and dog squad arrived at the scene and began a thorough search of the entire premises. Initial investigations have revealed no suspicious items thus far.
Authorities have stated that there is currently no cause for panic, but the search operation continues as a precautionary measure.
According to officials, the email claimed the presence of a bomb, prompting immediate action from security agencies. The term “Khalistan” was mentioned in the email, which has heightened the seriousness of the situation. The police are now working to identify the sender of the email and uncover their intentions.
This incident occurred shortly after a major security lapse was reported at the Delhi Assembly. On Monday (April 6), an individual breached high-security protocols and entered the assembly premises through a VIP gate. He even exited his vehicle and placed a bouquet near the speaker’s car before leaving without any hindrance. The individual was later identified as Sarabjit Singh and was apprehended by the police within hours.
Reports indicate that he drove from Pilibhit to Chandigarh and then to Delhi. He gained entry by breaking through Gate Number 2. The police arrested him in North Delhi and seized his vehicle.
After being presented in court, he was remanded to eight days of police custody. Authorities are investigating whether there was any conspiracy behind his actions and if others were involved. They are also searching for his mobile phone, which he allegedly discarded.
During the investigation, the police informed the court that the accused appeared to be mentally unstable. His lawyer also argued that he was undergoing treatment.
