Chatra, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : In Chatra, Jharkhand, the body of a 24-year-old man was discovered in a well, raising alarm in the community. The victim, identified as Sunny Yadav, left his home on Wednesday afternoon, stating he would return soon. His family became concerned when they couldn’t reach him by phone later that evening.
Sunny’s father, Bharat Yadav, reported that he last spoke to his son around 8 PM, but by morning, villagers informed them that Sunny’s body had been found in the well near the bus stand in the Sadar police station area.
Authorities are investigating allegations that Sunny’s friends were involved in a conspiracy to murder him and dispose of his body in the well. This incident follows a troubling pattern, as Sunny’s aunt was also murdered under suspicious circumstances about six months prior.
Initially, the family was reluctant to allow a post-mortem examination, but after discussions with Assistant Sub-Inspector Dukhiram Mahato, they agreed. The police have since taken possession of the body and sent it to Chatra Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
Law enforcement officials have stated that they will conduct a thorough investigation based on the family’s written complaint and the autopsy report, ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
In a related incident, a dismembered body of a young woman was found near Dhangi Hill in Dhanbad on September 11. Police swiftly apprehended four suspects linked to her murder, which stemmed from familial discontent over her love marriage.
