BLF Claims Responsibility for Attacks in Balochistan, Security Personnel Casualties Reported

Quetta, March 4: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for two attacks targeting Pakistani security forces in the Turbat and Panjgur regions of Balochistan. Local media reports indicate that these assaults resulted in casualties and significant infrastructural damage.

In a statement to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwaharham Baloch reported that the group’s fighters launched nine rounds at intelligence offices located within the Pakistan FC headquarters in the Chitkan area of Panjgur district on Tuesday. The organization asserts that this attack caused heavy casualties and extensive damage.

In a separate incident, the spokesperson mentioned that a convoy of Pakistani security forces was targeted in the Absar area of Turbat. This convoy included two vehicles and motorcycles. According to the statement, a remote-controlled IED explosion destroyed a military vehicle while passing through the Kohda Yusuf area, resulting in the deaths of three security personnel and injuries to two others.

The BLF has taken responsibility for both attacks: the grenade assault on the intelligence office at the Chitkan FC headquarters and the IED attack on the military convoy in Absar.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani army has imposed a curfew in the Zehri area of Khuzdar district, leading to the closure of markets, businesses, and public transport. This has severely restricted the movement of people, forcing thousands to remain indoors and significantly disrupting daily life.

Local sources report that the curfew has resulted in a severe shortage of essential goods such as flour, milk, vegetables, and medicines. Daily wage workers are particularly affected, as their livelihoods are directly impacted.

In light of the holy month of Ramadan, local residents have urged the Pakistani administration to lift the curfew on humanitarian grounds, allowing access to essential goods and medical facilities. Reports indicate that restrictions on movement are also hindering patients from reaching hospitals.

Previously, the Zehri area was under curfew for a month, during which drone strikes caused casualties and property damage. Additionally, reports suggest that the curfew in Noshki district continues, further exacerbating the difficulties faced by local residents.
