BJPs Ramchandra Rao Questions Congresss Silence on Jharkhand Protests

Hyderabad, August 11: Telangana BJP President N. Ramchandra Rao accused the Congress party and the INDIA alliance of double standards on Tuesday. He pointed out that while Congress creates a ruckus over issues like NEET, it remains silent on student protests in states like Jharkhand.

Speaking to reporters, Rao stated, “Protests are ongoing in Jharkhand, where students are demanding a CBI investigation into the Jharkhand Public Service Commission exams.”

He criticized Congress, saying that while the INDIA alliance discusses issues such as the NEET paper leak, it chooses to ignore the student protests in Jharkhand. “Why isn’t the opposition openly supporting the students?” he asked.

The BJP leader made it clear that his party stands with the students’ demands. “The BJP supports the students’ call for a CBI investigation. The Hemant Soren government should hand over the investigation to the CBI,” he asserted. He emphasized that compromising students’ futures is unacceptable, and a fair investigation is essential.

Regarding the ongoing deadlock in Parliament’s monsoon session, Rao held Rahul Gandhi and Congress leadership responsible. He remarked, “Rahul Gandhi’s repeated absence from Parliament and his attempts to disrupt proceedings are akin to deceiving the democratic process.”

The BJP state president noted that Parliament is meant for debate and discussion, yet the opposition is avoiding it. “Parliament exists for debate and discussion; however, Congress leaders, including Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, are shying away from discussing critical issues affecting the public and the nation,” he stated.

Referring to the NEET issue, he mentioned that the government was ready for discussion, but the opposition obstructed the proceedings. “They wanted a discussion on the NEET exam, and the government was prepared for it, but the opposition does not want to engage. The government is willing to listen, but the opposition is not allowing Parliament to function,” he added.

Rao described Rahul Gandhi’s attitude as “negative,” asserting, “Rahul Gandhi is responsible for this. His approach is very negative. He does not want the House to function.”
