Kolkata, July 20: The BJP in West Bengal is set to launch a large-scale ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign across the state starting August 9.
A source from the West Bengal BJP revealed on Monday that the leadership decided to implement this program following the establishment of a BJP government in the state.
The party aims to elevate the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative to new heights in every district. This campaign is part of the nationwide ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ which encourages every citizen to hoist the national flag at their homes.
This initiative seeks to instill a sense of patriotism among citizens and demonstrate respect for the national flag. A significant number of households in Bengal are expected to display the national flag this Independence Day.
According to BJP insiders, the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program will commence on August 9 and continue until August 14.
BJP MP Soumitra Khan has been appointed as the program’s in-charge in the state. Party leaders Anindya Banerjee (Raju), Sonali Murmu Soren, Mahadev Sarkar, and Falguni Patra have been designated as co-in-charges. The program will be held in all districts, with directives already sent to district committees.
A procession featuring the national flag will also take place. Furthermore, the BJP has requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to visit Bengal for a meeting during this campaign.
Sources indicate that the top leadership of the BJP has presented this program to Shah, who may visit Bengal during this period. However, it remains uncertain whether he will participate in any such events in the state.
Previously, the BJP faced obstacles in organizing various programs due to the former Trinamool Congress government. Now, with the BJP in power, the party is working to bring central ministers and leaders to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign across different districts.
