BJP Ministers Criticize Samajwadi Partys Handling of Religious Events and Media Relations
BJP leaders in Uttar Pradesh accuse the Samajwadi Party of obstructing religious events and disrespecting journalists.

Lucknow, October 20 (Daily Kiran) : Cabinet ministers from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have launched a pointed critique against Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, addressing the party’s approach towards religious events and the media. During a press conference in Lucknow, Minister Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh alleged that under the SP government, significant Hindu festivals such as the Kanwar Yatra and Ram Navami processions faced disruptions.
Singh emphasized that the current Yogi Adityanath administration allows all communities to celebrate their festivals without discrimination. He accused Yadav of practicing appeasement politics and disrespecting the majority community. Furthermore, Singh questioned the SP’s treatment of journalists, claiming that Yadav often inquires about their caste when responding to their questions, thereby insulting the media. He called for an apology from the SP to the journalistic community.
Minister Sanjay Nishad also targeted Yadav, asserting that he joined the BJP not for personal gain but to address social issues. Nishad remarked that the BJP is actively working on solutions to these problems and indicated that if the party fails to do so, it would reconsider its approach.
Nishad pointed out that the Constitution is founded on principles of equality, freedom, brotherhood, and justice. He noted that while political parties promise respect, security, prosperity, and self-reliance, they often forget these commitments once in power. This has led the public to increasingly support Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi, who they believe are genuinely working for their welfare.
Responding to Yadav’s comments about preserving the Constitution, Nishad referenced a report from the Social Justice Committee, claiming it highlighted an overrepresentation of certain groups in government jobs. He questioned why other communities should not receive their fair share of opportunities, asserting that the Constitution’s intent is to provide equal rights and chances to all citizens, not just a select few.
