BJP Leaders Highlight Benefits of BRICS Summit, Respond to Opposition Criticism

New Delhi, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have voiced their perspectives on the ongoing BRICS summit in India, drawing reactions from various regions of the country.

In Hooghly, BJP legislator Dilip Singh emphasized the importance of the summit and Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to India. He noted that many countries are currently facing economic challenges and experiencing conflict. Against this backdrop, Singh described Xi Jinping’s arrival in India after nearly seven years as a positive signal for India-China relations. He expressed hope that this visit would pave the way for future friendship and improved ties between the two nations.

In Delhi, BJP spokesperson Yasir Gilani welcomed the heads of state attending the BRICS summit. He remarked that the 20-year anniversary of BRICS marks a significant milestone for the organization. This two-decade journey reflects BRICS’s evolution into a more mature and responsible entity. The potential for dialogue and collaboration among participating nations is crucial on a global scale.

Former Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir, SP Vaid, linked the summit to the changing global power structure. He stated that the world is no longer unipolar. Vaid highlighted the presence of leaders such as Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a significant global image. He suggested that current circumstances indicate a shift in the global order, marking an important development in the context of an emerging multipolar world.

In Mumbai, BJP legislator Ram Kadam sharply responded to opposition questions regarding the summit. He pointed out that numerous prominent leaders from around the world are participating. Kadam criticized opposition figures, particularly Congress leaders, for questioning the significance of such an international summit instead of recognizing the opportunities presented by India’s hosting of the event.

Additionally, AIMIM national spokesperson Waris Pathan welcomed the condemnation of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam during the summit. He called the murder of innocents in Pahalgam completely reprehensible and noted that his party had also condemned the act. Pathan mentioned that following tensions between India and Pakistan, India had carried out operations targeting terrorist bases and facilities under Operation Sindoor.
