New Delhi, June 13: BJP leaders have launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), claiming that the party’s governance has made life difficult for the people of West Bengal. They argue that the TMC’s mismanagement has led to its current downfall, particularly when its leaders face public backlash.
BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal stated in a press conference that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee‘s tenure has been marked by distress for the citizens. He emphasized that her administration has consistently undermined the public’s interests, making it evident that she must step down from power. This discontent is reflected in the TMC’s poor performance in the recent elections.
Jaiswal also targeted Mamata Banerjee’s nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, accusing him of alienating the public. He claimed that Abhishek only welcomed individuals with criminal backgrounds into the party, which raises questions about the party’s integrity and future.
In a democratic nation, Jaiswal noted, every party must face the consequences of its actions. However, he remarked that it is unprecedented to witness such chaos within a party following electoral defeat, describing the situation as bizarre and unacceptable.
BJP MLA Sudipta Das echoed these sentiments, asserting that if there are no raids on Mamata and Abhishek Banerjee, then where will they occur? He accused them of exploiting the people of West Bengal and insisted that their actions should not be tolerated. Recently, a case involving liquor theft has surfaced, and Das alleged that they possess significant amounts of black money, warranting thorough investigations to uncover the truth.
He called for increased raids, suggesting that any recovered funds should be invested in the development of West Bengal. Das insisted that Abhishek Banerjee should be a primary target for these investigations, as he is believed to control substantial illicit funds. He emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive inquiry to reveal the full extent of the situation, advocating for the seizure of their assets.
