BJP Leaders Back Mohan Bhagwats Remarks, Emphasize Strong Roots of Democracy in India

BJP leaders support Mohan Bhagwats statements on democracy and cultural integrity, stressing Indias resilience against external influences.

New Delhi, October 20 (Daily Kiran) : Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), received backing from BJP leaders following his comments during the Vijayadashami festival in Nagpur. He expressed concerns about regime change and the impact on youth, asserting that Western influences threaten societal values.

Bhagwat remarked, “A storm from the West opposes all forms of civility and seeks to destroy them. Look at what’s happening in France, Albania, Nepal, and Bangladesh. They claim that regime change will alter circumstances, but history shows this never happens.”

He warned of malevolent forces plotting to disrupt the unity of India, Hindus, and the RSS, noting that some ambitious leaders, driven by petty power and lack of judgment, align with these forces. He described a Western storm determined to obliterate cultural and human values that are essential for societies worldwide.

Concerned about the new generation, Bhagwat noted that young people absorb information without discernment, leading to negative consequences. He mentioned that various countries have implemented disciplines and restrictions as a response. In India, he highlighted a similar need, particularly regarding content on Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms, urging authorities to consider regulations.

BJP spokesperson RP Singh stated, “There is no doubt that attempts are being made to replicate Western-style turmoil in India. Figures like Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav have suggested that change will come through conflict in the streets rather than parliamentary discourse. This is not how democracy works in India.”

Singh emphasized that protests should aim for solutions, not merely be for the sake of protest itself. BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain echoed this sentiment, asserting that those advocating for regime change will achieve nothing, as India’s democratic roots are deep and resilient.

He criticized Rahul Gandhi for resorting to violence and chaos, acknowledging that some opposition parties are following suit, which he deemed unfortunate. Guru Prakash Paswan added that the RSS’s insights reflect societal concerns, especially regarding the content consumed by today’s youth, calling for regulatory measures.

BJP spokesperson Ajay Alok warned against the agendas of those wishing to create disorder, stating that the majority of India’s population, which consists of over 110 crore Hindus, ensures that any attempts at regime change will ultimately fail.

MLC Shrikant Bharati noted that the RSS’s mission extends beyond India, aiming to empower the nation for global welfare. He affirmed that Bhagwat’s statements resonate widely across the country.
