New Delhi, June 7: BJP leaders have responded to the recent ₹29 increase in domestic LPG cylinder prices, asserting that it is in the nation’s interest. They emphasized that despite global crises, India does not face a shortage of petroleum products and that prices remain lower compared to other countries.
In Jodhpur, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat stated, “This crisis has arisen due to global challenges. When we look globally, the prices of petroleum products have surged by 30% to 130%. LPG and CNG prices have increased by 30% to 300%. All countries are affected by this global crisis, and India is certainly among them, with the entire supply chain disrupted.”
BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi remarked, “The world is undergoing significant crises and challenges. The impact of this war is felt globally, and it cannot be ignored. India has been affected and will continue to be. However, I believe that this increase in LPG prices is a temporary issue and should not be viewed as a permanent problem.”
In Raipur, the chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, noted, “I think we need to pay attention to the international situation. The world is facing severe crises, with intense conflicts and wars ongoing. Many developed countries are experiencing disruptions in vehicle movement and shortages of diesel and petrol. Comparatively, I can say that India remains relatively stable and stands strong in every sector.”
Bihar government minister Santosh Kumar Suman acknowledged, “We understand that the ₹29 increase in domestic LPG prices is linked to global factors and international trends. If prices have risen, we are confident that efforts will be made to stabilize the situation. The Prime Minister and Finance Minister are certainly working towards finding solutions.”
In Patna, JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad stated, “When we compare India with other countries, our citizens are facing difficulties, but people in many parts of the world are confronting even greater challenges. The global situation has become quite abnormal, raising serious questions about the world economy.”
