BJP Critiques SPs Empty Chairs at PDA Conference in Kannauj

The BJP criticizes the SPs PDA conference in Kannauj, highlighting empty seats and questioning the partys integrity ahead of their manifesto release.

Kannauj, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a sharp critique of the Samajwadi Party (SP) during its PDA conference in Kannauj, where many chairs remained empty. The BJP’s attack coincided with the SP’s announcement to release its manifesto on Constitution Day, November 26. Prominent BJP figures, including ministers Danish Azad Ansari, Daya Shankar Singh, and Girish Chandra Yadav, as well as MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar and leader Subrata Pathak, targeted SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and MP Chandrashekhar Azad.

Minister Danish Azad Ansari stated, “The Samajwadi Party has consistently betrayed the PDA, and the backward classes, Dalits, and minorities are beginning to realize this. When given the chance to nominate two candidates for the Rajya Sabha, the SP opted for a wealthy individual instead of someone from the backward or minority communities.” He emphasized that the SP has lost its footing in Uttar Pradesh, making baseless statements to mislead the public. He urged the SP to present its report card before issuing its manifesto, detailing its contributions to the state’s development from 2012 to 2017.

In response to MP Chandrashekhar Azad’s challenge for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to contest from Bijnor, Minister Girish Chandra Yadav remarked, “The Chief Minister has already invited Akhilesh Yadav. The entire opposition can unite to contest from there, and the public will respond accordingly. Azad may have won the Lok Sabha elections, but if he runs again, he will see the reality.”

On the SP’s plan to unveil its manifesto on Constitution Day, Minister Daya Shankar Singh questioned their integrity, stating, “If they are releasing their manifesto on this day, they should first declare that they will not ally with Congress, which has done the most to undermine the Constitution and democracy. The SP was founded to support democracy, while Congress imposed emergency and curtailed democratic rights.”

Singh further asserted that a person’s right to choose their leader is fundamental and cannot be imposed. However, he cautioned against supporting anti-national elements or terrorists. He dismissed the concept of the PDA, labeling it merely as “Family Development Authority” and claimed it only serves family interests, leaving no room for SP workers to aspire to leadership roles.

BJP MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar criticized Akhilesh Yadav for discussing the Constitution, calling it a joke, given the SP’s past derogatory remarks about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. BJP leader Subrata Pathak added, “What does PDA mean for them? The SP introduced the term to reinvent itself due to its tarnished reputation during its rule. They have repeatedly altered the meaning of PDA, sometimes referring to it as Pandit, backward, or victim, leaving the public confused about its true significance. Ultimately, for them, it means ‘Family Development Authority’—focusing solely on family advancement.”
