BJP Accuses Opposition of Foreign Influence Behind Regime Change Narrative
BJP claims foreign forces are inciting violence in India, accusing opposition leaders of promoting a regime change agenda.

New Delhi, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the opposition of promoting a narrative aimed at ‘regime change’ in India. This allegation comes in response to remarks made by leaders such as Uddhav Thackeray of the Shiv Sena (UBT), who have suggested that a shift in power is inevitable. The BJP claims that unidentified foreign entities are attempting to incite violence within the country.
At a press conference in New Delhi, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has strengthened its position on the global stage. However, he asserted that certain forces are unhappy with this progress.
Trivedi noted, “India is continuously progressing and enhancing its global standing. Some forces, both inside and outside the country, are clearly aligned against this development.” He referred to ongoing protests in Europe, suggesting they reveal a clearer picture to Indian citizens regarding these external influences.
He also highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s recent address during Dussehra, where the Prime Minister warned against attempts to destabilize the country through corruption, societal division, and opposition to Indian culture and religion. Trivedi accused these forces of engaging in politics that promotes looting and societal discord once they gain power.
Expressing concern over the economic impact of protests during the festive season, Trivedi stated that this period is crucial for businesses. He claimed that some factions do not want to see India thrive.
Using the example of the Ramayana, Trivedi compared the persistent demands of certain movements to the ten heads of Ravana, suggesting that each time one issue is resolved, another arises. He emphasized the need to understand the underlying motives and rhetoric used in these movements.
Trivedi warned that these forces disguise their true intentions and are not genuinely interested in fulfilling demands. He urged recognition of their alleged objectives, which he claims aim to incite violent conflict and destabilize the government.
Indirectly targeting Uddhav Thackeray, Trivedi challenged leaders who claim the legacy of Balasaheb Thackeray to clarify their stance with those forces purportedly undermining religion and culture. He also questioned Congress regarding Sanjay Raut‘s knowledge of Rahul Gandhi that remains unknown to other party leaders and criticized the predictions of political changes following foreign trips.
He remarked that claims of impending disasters, such as a ‘hydrogen bomb’ or a ‘tsunami,’ have been made in the past. Now, in the context of Raut’s statements, there are allegations of unknown foreign forces being involved.
Trivedi concluded by asserting that the Modi government enjoys the support of the public, and attempts at regime change will fail. He stated, “The dream of regime change will shatter against the resolve of 1.4 billion patriotic Indians, just as glass shatters upon hitting a stone.” He called on Congress to respond to the allegations of foreign connections, although no substantial evidence was presented during the press conference to support the claims of foreign involvement.
