Samajwadi Party Leaders Target BJP and NDA, Claim Unity in Opposition Alliance
SP leaders criticize BJP and NDA, asserting unity in the opposition alliance and addressing election integrity concerns.

Lucknow, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : Leaders of the Samajwadi Party (SP) have launched a direct attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), asserting the unity of the opposition alliance known as the Indi alliance. SP MP Awadhesh Prasad raised concerns regarding the appointment of presiding officers during the Milkipur by-election, questioning their affiliations with the BJP. Meanwhile, fellow MP Rajiv Rai accused NDA allies of internal strife.
In Ayodhya, Prasad claimed that several presiding officers appointed for the Milkipur by-election had previous ties to the BJP or connections through family members. He indicated that this issue had been raised with the Election Commission both at the national and district levels.
Prasad noted that SP President Akhilesh Yadav had also filed a complaint regarding these appointments, yet no changes were made. He expressed that such appointments raise serious concerns about the fairness of the electoral process.
Dismissing rumors of discord within the Indi alliance, Prasad emphasized that the coalition was formed for a significant purpose and is united. He clarified that there are no disagreements between Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, nor any disputes regarding seat sharing.
The primary objective for all coalition partners, according to Prasad, is to secure as many seats as possible and form a government. He stated that removing the current government is a priority, as the public increasingly views it as a burden.
In Lucknow, MP Rajiv Rai criticized NDA allies for claiming strength while struggling to form a cohesive alliance. He pointed out that BJP leaders frequently comment on the Indi alliance instead of focusing on their coalition’s challenges.
Rai urged the BJP to prioritize the demands of its allies rather than worrying about seat distribution within the Indi alliance. He also raised the issue of women’s reservation, questioning why it is not being implemented by 2027. He asserted that the SP seeks respect and justice for women in Uttar Pradesh.
SP spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand stated that Akhilesh Yadav aims to create a manifesto that reflects the aspirations and concerns of the public. He mentioned that various groups have met with Yadav to present their demands, which are being incorporated into the manifesto.
Regarding Om Prakash Rajbhar’s announcement of a social harmony rally, Chand remarked that all political parties conduct rallies and campaigns before elections, and the SP has no comments to make on this. He concluded by stating that the PDA (Backward, Dalit, and Minority) is prepared to defeat the BJP and its allies.
