Farmers Suffer Severe Losses from Hailstorms, Akhilesh Yadav Will Lead Government in 2027, Says Mohibullah Nadvi

Mohibullah Nadvi discusses farmers hailstorm losses, student union demands, and law-and-order issues in Uttar Pradesh.

Rampur, October 26 (Daily Kiran) : In Rampur, on October 26, Samajwadi Party MP Mohibullah Nadvi addressed several pressing issues, including the significant losses farmers have faced due to recent hailstorms. He also called for the restoration of the student union at Jamia Millia Islamia, commented on the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) actions against Azam Khan’s university, and raised concerns about law and order in Uttar Pradesh.

Nadvi highlighted the extensive damage to crops caused by hail, particularly in Phoolsunsa village near the Bilaspur sugar mill. He reported that approximately 2,500 to 3,000 bighas of land were affected, with rice and sugarcane crops suffering severe destruction. He has urged both the government and the district magistrate to investigate the situation and expedite compensation for the farmers. Nadvi emphasized the hard work farmers put into their livelihoods, stating that they play a crucial role in providing food for the nation.

Regarding the protests at Jamia Millia Islamia, Nadvi stated that the primary aim is to reinstate the student union. He appealed to the vice-chancellor to restore the union promptly and engage with the student body. He questioned why Jamia is treated differently when other universities, like Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University, have functioning student unions.

On the ongoing actions against Azam Khan and his university, Nadvi characterized the allegations as politically motivated. He refrained from commenting on cases currently under judicial review but accused the ruling party of misusing agencies like the ED and CBI against political opponents. He drew parallels to his own legal challenges, suggesting that voicing concerns for rights can lead to legal repercussions.

Nadvi criticized the state and national law enforcement situation, citing incidents of mob lynching, inadequate healthcare for the poor, and school-related issues. He asserted that the public is aware of these problems and is ready for political change, expressing confidence that Akhilesh Yadav will lead the government in 2027.

When asked about Asaduddin Owaisi’s influence on Uttar Pradesh politics, Nadvi stated that only Allah controls the outcomes. He humorously compared Hyderabadi biryani to the more popular Awadhi biryani, suggesting Owaisi’s brand would not succeed in Uttar Pradesh.

Responding to comments made by Samajwadi Party leader Rajkumar Bhati regarding Hindu deities, Nadvi emphasized that religion is a personal matter. He accused the BJP government of undermining the rights of Muslims, Dalits, Sikhs, and Christians, citing incidents of mosque demolitions and actions taken without notice. Nadvi concluded by asserting that in a nation founded on Gandhi’s principles, truth and rights will ultimately prevail.
