BJP Accuses Congress of Protecting Intruders During Save Democracy March in Surat

BJP leaders in Surat claim Congress is undermining democracy by protecting intruders and opposing voter list revisions.

Surat, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : The Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a ‘Save Democracy, End Anarchy’ campaign in Surat on Sunday, targeting the Congress party for allegedly protecting intruders and opposing the removal of their names from voter lists.

State BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma made these remarks during a march attended by Union Minister for Water Power C.R. Patil. He accused the opposition of attempting to erode public trust in democratic institutions and the electoral process.

According to the BJP, the campaign aims to counter misleading propaganda against democratic institutions, particularly the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists and the electoral process itself.

Vishwakarma asserted that Congress is shielding intruders and does not want their names removed from the voter rolls. He accused the party of spreading unrest and attempting to disrupt the national atmosphere.

He further claimed that Congress is unwilling to accept the public mandate and is instead fostering confusion and distrust regarding the country’s democratic institutions. Vishwakarma also alleged that the party is inciting youth under the influence of foreign powers.

He emphasized that Indian youth stand with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that the public has full confidence in the nation’s democratic institutions. He dismissed alleged conspiracies by Rahul Gandhi and his associates as destined to fail.

The state BJP president criticized Congress for engaging in “politics of lies” to create an atmosphere of chaos. He stated that the public is aware of the party’s political maneuvers and will not forgive attempts to tarnish India’s reputation.

Referencing Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Vishwakarma noted that the country is progressing towards becoming a developed nation under the ‘Make in India’ initiative and achieving self-reliance. He also mentioned that Modi recently celebrated 25 years of public service and dedication.

The march commenced near the Prime Market in Adajan, passing through key locations such as Presidency Circle, Fish Circle, and Varun Hospital Circle, before concluding at Bhulka Bhavan Circle.

Participants chanted slogans like “Congress supports intruders,” “Friends of intruders are traitors,” and “The nation will not tolerate the insult of the public mandate under the guise of vote theft.”

The event saw participation from state minister Naresh Patel, BJP state secretary Prashant Korat, Surat city BJP president Paresh Patel, party officials, MPs, MLAs, elected representatives, religious and community leaders, business association representatives, women, NGO representatives, and other citizens.
