Bihar Sharif, March 26: Residents of Bihar have expressed their desire for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to remain in the state rather than move to Delhi after his recent victory in the Rajya Sabha elections. During his visit to his home district of Nalanda, locals rallied and chanted slogans urging him to stay.
On Thursday, as part of his “Samriddhi Yatra,” Kumar received a warm welcome in Nalanda. The crowd not only urged him to remain in Bihar but also voiced strong support for his son, Nishant Kumar.
While addressing the public during a dialogue program, Kumar was met with chants from the gathered crowd, asking him not to leave Bihar. This led to a brief moment of chaos at the event, requiring police intervention to restore order.
Despite attempts by law enforcement to calm the situation, attendees continued to appeal to the Chief Minister. Slogans such as “Jai Nishant, Tay Nishant” echoed from the stage, signaling a clear message about the future leadership of the Janata Dal (United) party.
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar emphasized that any future government in Bihar must adhere to Nitish Kumar’s development plans. He boldly declared that the party’s future leadership would be in Nishant Kumar’s hands, encouraging the audience to show their support for him.
Earlier, MLA Anant Singh had also advocated for Nishant to take on the role of Chief Minister.
