Patna, March 15: Following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to enter the Rajya Sabha, his son Nishant Kumar is set to make his political debut. Nishant is also planning a visit to Bihar soon. Amid various discussions regarding his age, Bihar Minister Ashok Chaudhary has provided clarity.
Ashok Chaudhary, a senior leader of the Janata Dal (United) and a close associate of Nitish Kumar, claimed on Sunday that Nishant is 44 years old. He revealed that Nishant’s correct date of birth is July 20, 1981, contradicting earlier claims that suggested he was born in 1975.
Chaudhary urged media outlets to adopt this accurate age and date of birth in their reporting.
Speculation about Nishant’s age has been rampant, with some sources erroneously suggesting he is 50. In response, Minister Chaudhary disclosed the correct information.
He also shared this clarification on his official social media account, stating, “Please note that Nishant Kumar’s correct date of birth is July 20, 1981, making him 44 years old. I kindly request all media colleagues to use this date and age moving forward.”
Chaudhary emphasized that incorrect birth dates and ages are being published, urging the media to disseminate accurate information.
The discussions around Nishant’s political future have intensified following his father’s move to the Rajya Sabha. There are growing calls among JD(U) workers for Nishant to be appointed as the next Chief Minister. During a recent event in Begusarai, supporters vocally demanded his elevation to the chief ministerial position.
