Lucknow, March 15: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of party founder Kanshiram, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati paid tribute and urged the Bahujan community to join the BSP to strengthen the movement for social change and economic liberation. During her address, she launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), stating there is a significant gap between what parties claim to do for the Bahujan community and their actual actions.
Mayawati emphasized that the BSP is the true movement and political force for the welfare and upliftment of the Bahujan community. She criticized opposition parties, including the SP, for weakening the unity of the Bahujan community instead of empowering it. According to her, these parties have caused more harm than good to the Bahujan society.
She accused parties that politicize the issues of the poor, Dalits, Adivasis, backward classes, and Muslims of failing to deliver justice to these groups. Mayawati dismissed the SP’s ‘PDA’ slogan as mere theatrics aimed at gaining electoral advantage. She pointed out that these parties only remember Dalits, backward classes, and minorities during elections, while neglecting them once in power.
Mayawati asserted that the SP, like other caste-based parties, has not been beneficial for the Bahujan community. This is not just an allegation but is evident from the political history of these parties.
She claimed that the Muslim community is gradually losing faith in these parties, while the Brahmin community’s association with the BSP is increasing, intensifying the SP’s political and caste-based opposition. She reiterated that the unity and political strength of the Bahujan community are the true guarantees of their rights.
While paying tribute to Kanshiram, Mayawati highlighted his lifelong dedication to the upliftment of the Bahujan community and social change. She noted that Kanshiram infused new energy into the thoughts and movements of Constitution architect B.R. Ambedkar, historically transforming the Bahujan community into a political force.
Mayawati mentioned that BSP workers and supporters across the country paid tribute to Kanshiram through various programs, reaffirming their commitment to strengthen the movement for social change and economic liberation.
She appealed to the Bahujan community to join the party and become true and honest Ambedkarite missionaries, using their voting power to gain the ‘master key’ to power, ensuring that the rights granted to them in the Constitution are implemented on the ground.
Mayawati reiterated that the BSP is the genuine movement and political force for the welfare and upliftment of the Bahujan community. She accused some parties of showing love for the Bahujan community through slogans like ‘PDA’ only for electoral self-interest.
She also urged the central government to honor Kanshiram with the Bharat Ratna without further delay, acknowledging his contributions. BSP leaders and workers gathered in large numbers at various locations, including the party headquarters at 9 Mall Avenue in Lucknow and the National Dalit Inspiration Site in Noida, to pay tribute to Kanshiram and reaffirm their commitment to advancing his mission.
