Patna, August 16: The Bihar BJP has launched a strong attack on Congress regarding the reactions of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge during the singing of ‘Vande Mataram‘ at the Congress headquarters. Party leaders assert that the public will not tolerate such actions from Congress.
BJP state president Sanjay Sarawagi stated, “The disrespect shown to the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ at the Congress headquarters is unacceptable to the people of this country. It is unimaginable that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi would stoop so low in their politics of appeasement.”
Sarawagi added, “The entire nation was watching. As soon as the second stanza of ‘Vande Mataram’ began, their faces displayed discomfort and unease, as if they were questioning, ‘What is playing?’ The national song symbolizes respect and pride for our country, and these individuals are belittling it.”
Bihar government minister Ashok Chaudhary remarked that ‘Vande Mataram’ was created when there was only one party. He emphasized that Congress does not value ‘Vande Mataram’ as much as the BJP does, which he believes is a source of their discontent.
Regarding the absence of top Congress leaders during the August 15 celebrations, he said, “August 15 and January 26 are not events for any party. They are national festivals that involve the government and the public. Leaders from Manmohan Singh to Atal Bihari Vajpayee participated, but now these individuals have a mindset that divides even these occasions along party lines. It is uncertain where they will lead the country in the future.”
Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha expressed that the reactions of Congress leaders during the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ were “sad and unfortunate.” He stated, “There is no place for such behavior in democracy. Differences may exist, but nationalism should be paramount and felt by everyone. This reflects the mentality of those born with a silver spoon.”
Minister Pramod Chandravanshi noted, “’Vande Mataram’ is the mantra that led to our country’s freedom, yet Congress cannot even accept that today.”
BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav added, “Sonia Gandhi is a foreigner. She may be here, but it seems she still lacks love for the country, the national song, and the tricolor.”
