
New Delhi witnessed the felicitation of the best performing tableaux and marching contingents during the Republic Day Parade 2026 on Friday. Awards were presented to the finest marching teams from the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, and other supporting units, along with recognition for outstanding tableaux.
Defence Minister of State Sanjay Seth honoured the Indian Navy’s marching contingent as the best marching team, while Maharashtra’s tableau received the top award for best tableau. Jammu and Kashmir’s tableau, showcasing the region’s handicrafts and folk dances, secured the second position. Kerala’s tableau, highlighting the ‘Water Metro’ and ‘100% Digital Literacy: A Glimpse of Self-Reliant Kerala for a Self-Reliant India’, was awarded third place.
Among the Central Armed Police Forces and other auxiliary units, the Delhi Police marching team was recognised as the best. The Culture Ministry’s tableau, titled ‘Vande Mataram: The Soulful Echo of a Nation’, was declared the best among central ministries and departments. This team also received its award on Friday.
Minister Sanjay Seth congratulated all winning teams and tableaux for their exemplary presentations. He emphasized that Republic Day is not just a national festival but a reaffirmation of the nation’s resolve to achieve the vision of a developed India by 2047 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Based on public opinion, the top three tableaux were also awarded. Gujarat’s tableau, themed ‘Swadeshi – Self-Reliance – The Mantra of Freedom: Vande Mataram’, was declared first. Uttar Pradesh’s tableau on ‘Bundelkhand’s Culture’ earned second place, while Rajasthan’s tableau, portraying ‘The Golden Glow of the Desert: Bikaner Gold Art (Usta Art)’, took third place.
The Central Public Works Department’s tableau commemorating ‘Vande Mataram: 150 Years Celebrations’ and its dance troupe’s performance titled ‘Vande Mataram: The Eternal Echo of India’ also received honours.
Echoing Prime Minister Modi’s appeal during the PM NCC Rally 2026, Sanjay Seth urged every young citizen to dedicate at least one hour weekly to cleanliness drives. He called cleanliness a collective responsibility of the nation and encouraged planning regular activities at selected locations.
By public consensus, the School Education and Literacy Department’s tableau was chosen as the best among central ministries and was duly awarded. These awards at the Republic Day Parade 2026 strongly reflect India’s rich cultural heritage, military discipline, and commitment to a self-reliant nation.
