Bengalurus Vijay Cinema Declines to Screen Ranbir Kapoors Ramayana Over Revenue Sharing Dispute

Vijay Cinema in Bengaluru will not release Ramayana due to a disagreement over revenue sharing with distributors.

Bengaluru, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Bengaluru’s Vijay Cinema has announced that it will not screen the much-anticipated film ‘Ramayana’, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The theater cited a dispute over revenue sharing with the film’s distributors as the primary reason for its decision.

According to Vijay Cinema, the theater operates on a revenue-sharing model based on a predetermined percentage. However, the distributors have refused to agree to these terms for the film’s release.

In an official statement, the theater clarified that the decision to not release ‘Ramayana’ is not a reflection on the film itself or its storyline. Instead, it is strictly related to the conditions of revenue sharing.

Vijay Cinema has previously taken a similar stance with other films, including ‘Jana Niyakan’ featuring Thalapathy Vijay and the upcoming ‘Toxic’ starring Yash. The theater reiterated that its decision is not aimed at any particular film but is consistent with its established business practices regarding revenue distribution.

‘Ramayana’ is based on the Indian epic and has already generated significant buzz among audiences. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, along with a star-studded cast including Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi, and Anupam Kher.

The film is set to be released in two parts, with the first part scheduled for November 5 of this year, and the second part expected to debut during Diwali next year.
