Mumbai, March 16: This week, banks will be closed for a total of four days due to various holidays across different states. Celebrations for Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa are among the reasons for these closures. If you have any urgent banking tasks, it is essential to check whether your local bank will be open. Here’s a breakdown of the holidays by date and state.

Bank Holidays in March 2026:
March 17, 2026: Banks will be closed in Jammu and Kashmir for the Shab-e-Qadr festival.
March 19, 2026: Several states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Srinagar will observe holidays for Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and Telugu New Year.
March 20, 2026: Banks in Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh will be closed for Eid celebrations. Other states will remain open.
March 21, 2026: Eid holidays will be observed in Assam, Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, West Bengal, Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, and Srinagar.

Additionally, banks will be closed on March 22 for the weekly Sunday holiday. Following this, on March 26, banks will be closed in Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Mumbai, and Nagpur for the Sri Ram Navami festival.

On March 27, 2026, holidays will be observed in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Telangana, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh for Sri Ram Navami (Chaitra Dashami). Banks will also be closed on March 28 due to the fourth Saturday of the month. Lastly, on March 31, 2026, banks will be closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, New Delhi, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand for Mahavir Jayanti.
