Quetta, February 24: Tensions are escalating along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. In 2025, both nations experienced severe clashes, leading to a ceasefire agreement that has since failed. Recently, Pakistan launched significant airstrikes on Afghanistan.

The Baloch National Movement (BNM) has strongly condemned Pakistan’s actions, labeling them as a direct assault on Afghanistan’s sovereignty and independence.

In response to the airstrikes, the Afghan Ministry of Defense issued a statement, prompting the BNM’s reaction. Pakistan targeted several residential areas in Nangarhar and Paktika provinces, resulting in numerous civilian casualties.

According to the Ministry of Defense, these attacks hit a madrasa and multiple residential homes, killing and injuring many, including women and children.

The BNM expressed solidarity with the affected Afghan families and reiterated its support for Afghanistan’s right to self-defense and independence.

The BNM stated, “For the past 79 years, the primary cause of instability in this region has been the policies of the Pakistani government, driven by its overt and covert expansionist ambitions.”

The Baloch National Movement accused Pakistan of occupying Balochistan and stripping the region of its freedom. They claimed that Balochistan remains under the oppressive rule of a Punjabi regime. The oppressed nations under Pakistan are fighting for their existence.

The group noted, “The world can see that Pakistan is politically and socially fragmented, which has become a crisis for the nation itself. Despite the violence from the military and political forces, Pakistan has consistently failed to resolve its internal issues.”

The Baloch group asserted that Pakistan seeks to shift the blame for its failures onto neighboring countries, creating an atmosphere of instability and conflict in the region.

Additionally, the right-wing group warned that Pakistan’s military power poses a clear threat not only to the region but beyond. To address this situation, the BNM emphasized the need for unity between Afghanistan and Balochistan.
