Australia A Womens Team Announced for India Tour, Tyla Vlaminck and Darcy Brown Return

Melbourne, August 4: Cricket Australia has announced the Australia A women’s team for the upcoming tour of India. The 15-member squad sees the return of Darcy Brown and Tyla Vlaminck after a significant hiatus.

Tyla Vlaminck, 27, had been sidelined due to a shoulder injury during the T20 World Cup but is now fully fit. She is eager to showcase her skills in the ODIs and T20s against Team India. Meanwhile, 23-year-old Darcy Brown missed out on the T20 World Cup but has secured a spot in the Australia A team for the India tour. Her experience will be invaluable for the younger players.

The three-week tour includes three T20 matches in New Chandigarh, three ODIs in Mohali, and a four-day match in Dharamshala. Tahliya Wilson will captain the ODI matches, while Nicole Faltum will lead the T20s. Rachel Trenaman will take charge for the four-day match.

National selector Sean Fliegler stated, “The inclusion of international players in both groups provides our young players with a great opportunity to learn from them.” He added, “This tour offers players a chance to gain experience in subcontinental conditions and test themselves against a strong opposition. Playing in Indian conditions is excellent for the start of any player’s career.”

The Australia A team for the India tour includes: Darcy Brown, Matlan Brown, Nicole Faltum, Tess Flintoff, Sienna Ginger, Charlie Knott, Anika Lieroyd, Katie Mack, Lily Mills, Frankie Nicklin, Hayley Silver-Holmes, Rachel Trenaman, Courtney Webb, Tahliya Wilson, and Tyla Vlaminck.
