
New Chandigarh, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Australia A claimed victory over India A by 30 runs in the second match of their unofficial T20 series held in New Chandigarh on September 15, 2026. This win gives the visiting team an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
In the first match, Australia A had also triumphed, winning by six wickets. The final encounter of the series is scheduled for September 17.
Winning the toss, Australia A opted to bat first. The partnership between Katie Mack and Rachel Trenaman provided a strong start, accumulating 75 runs for the first wicket in just nine overs. Rachel scored 37 runs off 25 balls, including one six and five fours, before returning to the pavilion. Following her dismissal, Katie added another 38 runs with Charlie Knott for the second wicket.
Charlie contributed 26 runs from 20 balls with four boundaries. Katie then formed a crucial partnership with Anika Lieroid, adding 65 runs for the third wicket, propelling the team to a formidable total. Katie remained unbeaten at 83 runs from 60 balls, striking 11 fours, while Anika chipped in with 24 runs off 16 balls. Both wickets for India were taken by Nikki Prasad.
In response, India A struggled, managing only 148 runs while losing seven wickets. The team faced an early setback with Dinesh Vrinda dismissed for just one run. Shipra Giri and Sujata added 16 runs for the second wicket, but soon both were back in the dugout, leaving India at 29 runs.
The situation worsened as India A found themselves at 54 runs with five wickets down. Nikki Prasad attempted to stabilize the innings, forming a 53-run partnership with Minnu Mani for the sixth wicket and a 35-run partnership with Tanuja Kanwar for the seventh. Nikki finished with 54 runs from 31 balls, including two sixes and six fours, but her efforts were insufficient for a win. Frankie Nicklin and Millie Illingworth each took two wickets for Australia A.
