Jaipur, August 13 (Kiran News) – The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jaipur, on Wednesday arrested Assistant Police Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shankar Lal of Govindgarh police station in Jaipur Rural district for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹5,000. The trap operation was carried out under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Saraswat.

Additional Director General of ACB, Smita Srivastava, said the SIU team had received a complaint that ASI Shankar Lal Meena, the investigating officer at Govindgarh police station, had demanded a bribe of ₹5,000 in exchange for releasing a seized vehicle and not arresting the complainant’s son. Acting on the complaint, the ACB planned a trap and caught the ASI red-handed while accepting the bribe amount.
The ACB team collected necessary evidence from the spot, took the accused into custody, and confirmed that further interrogation is underway.
