Guwahati, February 5: In preparation for the upcoming assembly elections, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma initiated an aggressive ground campaign under the party’s ‘Booth Victory Campaign’ on Thursday. He directly engaged with local residents and party workers at booth number 32 in the Jalukbari assembly constituency.

Addressing party workers and locals, the Chief Minister stated that this campaign represents a crucial phase of the BJP’s electoral strategy, emphasizing the need to strengthen organizational presence at the booth level and establish direct contact with voters.

Sarma highlighted the importance of the booth as the foundation for electoral success, asserting that the BJP is focused on empowering its grassroots organizational presence.

“With the upcoming elections in mind, the BJP has launched the ‘Booth Victory Campaign’ today. Under this initiative, our workers will visit every booth, reaching out to households and raising the BJP flag at each home,” he said.

The Chief Minister clarified that the campaign will be conducted with the consent of the people, emphasizing that the party’s approach is based on dialogue rather than pressure.

“This will only be done with the permission of the respective families,” he added.

In a veiled attack on the opposition, Sarma remarked that the BJP’s strength lies in its disciplined workers and continuous engagement with voters, unlike some parties that only appear active during elections.

He noted that through the ‘Booth Victory Campaign’, workers will directly inform voters about the state government’s development plans and welfare programs.

According to senior BJP leaders, the campaign aims to energize party cadres, respond to the opposition’s narratives, and strengthen support across urban, rural, and tea garden areas of the state. This initiative will be implemented simultaneously across all assembly constituencies, with senior leaders overseeing the process.

As political activities intensify in Assam, the BJP has signaled its readiness to contest the elections from the grassroots level, relying on organizational strength, welfare schemes, and direct leadership engagement.

Sarma’s participation in this campaign within his home constituency of Jalukbari is seen as a strategic message to party workers, aiming to sharpen focus at the booth level and secure an electoral advantage in the state.
