New Delhi, 30 December: Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood launched a strong attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during a press conference at the Delhi Secretariat on Tuesday. He accused AAP leaders of spreading lies and rumours on social media to damage the social fabric of Delhi.

Addressing the media, the Education Minister said that on Monday, a coordinated campaign was run on social media falsely claiming that Delhi teachers were assigned the task of counting stray dogs. He categorically denied this claim, calling it baseless and untrue.

Sood issued an open challenge to AAP, stating that if there is any official order or circular assigning teachers to count dogs, it should be made public immediately. If such an order cannot be produced, AAP leaders must publicly apologise to the people of Delhi.

The Minister further accused AAP of spreading falsehoods regarding the suspension of Delhi’s tehsildars and sub-registrars, attempting to create administrative chaos.

He questioned why AAP appears to have such affinity towards corrupt officials. According to Sood, during AAP’s tenure, rampant corruption prevailed in these offices, whereas under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership, the government is taking strict action against corruption. He suggested that AAP’s support for corrupt officers raises serious questions about its intentions.

Sood also referred to a false post around 25 December, alleging that the Delhi Government ordered action against children dressing as Santa Claus in schools. He dismissed this as completely untrue and asked why AAP is not disclosing any such order if it exists.

On issues related to the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB), the Minister accused AAP of deliberately spreading misinformation. He stated that in 2022, nearly 16,000 candidates were declared successful through DSSSB, yet AAP continues to circulate incorrect information, reflecting its administrative incompetence and failure.

The Education Minister said that the people of Delhi have rejected AAP’s so-called education model, education minister, chief minister, and self-proclaimed India Ratna candidates in elections.

He condemned AAP’s politics as based on fraud, deceit, and lies. Sood remarked that even ten months after electoral defeat, AAP has not accepted its loss and has lost its political ground entirely.

Sood alleged that AAP has neither done any substantial work in education nor contributed to administrative development in Delhi. Instead, the party has indulged only in spreading lies, noise, and allegations.

The Minister emphasised that under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership, the Delhi Government is working for the public interest. He said this is why AAP is desperate and spreading falsehoods and rumours on social media to tarnish the government’s image, but the people of Delhi understand the truth and will never let these attempts succeed.
