Satna, April 21: In a tragic incident in Satna district, Madhya Pradesh, police arrested a suspect on Tuesday, just one day after the brutal murder of an 11-year-old boy. The suspect was apprehended at his ancestral home in Sidhi district.
The accused, Mathura Rajak, is currently in police custody, where authorities are interrogating him to uncover the motive and details surrounding the murder.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Shivesh Singh Baghel, confirmed that the swift action of multiple police teams led to the arrest. Baghel informed the media that three police teams were formed to capture Mathura Rajak, who was taken into custody on Tuesday evening.
This case pertains to a horrifying incident that occurred in the Kolgav area of Satna district on Monday, where fifth-grade student Shivraj Rajak was murdered in his rented home. Police discovered his body in a blue plastic drum after breaking down a locked door.
According to police reports, the child was home alone at the time of the incident. His mother had gone to work as a domestic helper, while his father was employed as a laborer in Nashik, Maharashtra. His siblings were also out for work and studies, leaving him alone at home.
The police stated that the suspect entered the house around 10:30 AM on Monday. He allegedly attacked the boy with a sharp sickle, resulting in immediate death.
After the murder, the suspect attempted to destroy evidence by placing the body in a blue drum, covering it with clothes, and locking the house from the outside before fleeing the scene.
The crime was discovered around 12:30 PM when the boy’s mother returned home. She found the main door locked from the outside and her son missing, with his shoes left near the entrance, raising suspicion.
According to police, she immediately alerted family members and neighbors, who then notified the authorities. A team from Kolgav police station arrived at the scene and broke down the door in the presence of the family. Inside, they found blood stains on the walls and a pillow.
