New Delhi, July 16: Argentina has secured its place in the FIFA World Cup final for the second consecutive time. In a thrilling semifinal match held at the Atlanta Stadium, Argentina showcased an impressive performance, defeating England 2-1.

Following this defeat, England will now face France in the match for third place. In the upcoming title match, Argentina will compete against Spain, who advanced by beating France 2-0 in the first semifinal. From the outset, both teams displayed aggressive gameplay. Although England launched more attacks and created several scoring opportunities, they were unable to find the back of the net. The defenses of both teams remained solid during the first half, resulting in a scoreless 45 minutes.

However, England started the second half with vigor. In the 55th minute, a pass from Morgan Rogers was expertly converted into a goal by Anthony Gordon, giving England a 1-0 lead. Despite continued pressure from England, Argentina made a remarkable comeback in the dying moments of the match. In the 85th minute, Enzo Fernandez converted a pass from Lionel Messi, leveling the score at 1-1 and seemingly sending the match into extra time.

Yet, in injury time, Argentina turned the game around completely. Lautaro Martinez capitalized on a pass from Messi, scoring without hesitation and sealing Argentina’s spot in the final for the second time. With two goals in the final seven minutes, Argentina triumphed in the semifinal, winning 2-1.
