New Delhi, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Apple is set to launch its highly anticipated ‘Surprise and Sign’ event today in New Delhi. With significant leadership changes after 15 years, all eyes are on the company. Tim Cook has stepped down as CEO and transitioned to the role of Executive Chairman. The reins of Apple are now in the hands of new CEO John Turnas, marking his debut at a major product launch.
For the past 15 years, Tim Cook has been the face of Apple’s major events. However, John Turnas will be leading the keynote for the first time. The world is eager to see how Turnas presents the company’s new vision and energy on stage.
According to global media reports, under Turnas’s leadership, Apple is entering an unprecedented era of technological transformation. Instead of merely updating existing products, the company is expanding its hardware portfolio. This event could mark a significant turning point in Apple’s history, with discussions of a foldable iPhone potentially named the “iPhone Ultra.”
To compete in the artificial intelligence arena, Apple is introducing a new “Siri AI” assistant at this event. Strengthening the company’s AI strategy and enhancing Siri’s capabilities will be a major challenge for Turnas, who has also partnered with Google for this initiative.

Notably, the standard iPhone 18 will not be launched during this event. Apple has shifted its launch strategy to prioritize the Pro models and the foldable iPhone. Breaking from tradition, the company will separate the launches of standard and Pro models, with the focus this September on the Pro versions and the first foldable iPhone. The standard iPhone 18 is anticipated to debut in the first quarter of 2027.
John Turnas made his first post on ‘X’ on September 1, simply saying “Hello.” Meanwhile, Tim Cook shared a heartfelt message on ‘X’ on August 31, stating, “On my last day as CEO, a lot of love for the Apple community. I’m changing roles tomorrow, but my love for the Apple community will never change. Thank you all for being a constant source of inspiration. I am deeply grateful and excited for the next chapter.”
Apple’s journey began with the launch of the first iPhone, introduced by Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007. The iPhone 3G, which debuted on July 11, 2008, was the company’s first device with 3G connectivity. The Retina display made its debut with the iPhone 4 in 2010, featuring 326 pixels per inch (PPI), four times that of the previous iPhone 3GS.
