
Mumbai, May 18: Actor Aparshakti Khurana shared an emotional tribute to his father, Pandit P. Khurana, on his birthday. The heartfelt post was made on social media on Monday.
In the video posted on Instagram, Aparshakti plays the harmonium while singing the classic song “Mujhe Tum Nazar Se Gira To Rahe Ho” by Mehndi Hasan.
He captioned the post, “Today is Dad’s birthday. I often sing Mehndi Hasan’s ‘Mujhe Tum Nazar Se’ in his memory. Dad always said, ‘He is a great artist – sing with respect.’ I’m trying, Dad, to sing with respect and become a better artist. Miss you a lot – the coolest Khurana.”
Aparshakti and his brother Ayushmann Khurrana’s father, Pandit P. Khurana (Veerendra Khurana), was a renowned astrologer and numerologist in North India. He was well-known for his expertise in astrology and authored several books on the subject. He passed away from a heart attack in Mohali on May 19, 2023. Both brothers were very close to their father.
Recently, Aparshakti appeared in the film “Jab Khuli Kitaab,” which revolves around an elderly couple who decide to divorce in their twilight years. He plays the role of R.K. Negi, a young lawyer handling the emotional divorce case of the elderly couple, portrayed by Pankaj Kapur and Dimple Kapadia.
Additionally, the actor is set to make his debut in South cinema with the Tamil film “Root – Running Out of Time,” a science-fiction thriller directed by Suryapratap S. He will share the screen with Tamil actor Gautham Karthik.
