Anushka Ranjan Shares Her IVF Journey, Discusses Emotional Challenges

Mumbai, September 3: Actress Anushka Ranjan recently appeared on the show ‘Double Date’ hosted by Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, where she opened up about the physical and emotional challenges she faced during her IVF journey alongside her husband, actor Aditya Seal.

The couple participated in the show before the birth of their children and shared their experiences. Anushka reflected on the early days of their journey, explaining that they initially attempted to conceive naturally.

Anushka revealed that she was advised to consider IUI, a less invasive procedure compared to IVF, although it still required medication and injections. She stated, “At first, we were trying to conceive naturally, and doctors suggested we try for six months to a year. Then there’s a process called IUI, which is a lighter version of IVF. It also involves a lot of medication, but fewer injections—about three or four. However, the medications made me feel strange.”

She elaborated on why they ultimately decided to pursue IVF. Anushka noted that IVF offers a higher chance of conception compared to IUI, but it also takes a significant emotional toll. “You start to feel like there’s something wrong with your body. As a woman, I felt I shouldn’t be drinking alcohol or eating non-vegetarian food. I also felt embarrassed about sharing that we were planning to have a baby,” she shared.

Aditya Seal added that during this process, he witnessed Anushka endure physical pain and emotional stress. He decided that if this attempt did not succeed, they would not pursue IVF again.

The couple also mentioned that they considered adoption. They believe that even if they are unable to conceive biologically, they still want to provide a loving and fulfilling life to a child.
