New Delhi, March 30: Actor Anupam Kher recently attended the International Film Festival held in New Delhi. During the event, he openly discussed various topics.
Kher expressed his thoughts on the festival, stating, “I believe this should have happened a long time ago, but I am glad that my friend Vipin Mishra and Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta initiated it. This place is perfect for such a film festival.”
He reminisced about the earlier days when the International Film Festival of India was held in Delhi. As a drama school student, he had toured the venue. He remarked, “This place is beautiful, and the atmosphere is amazing.”
Kher was visibly excited about his film ‘Tanvi the Great,’ which is being showcased at the festival. He said, “I am thrilled that my film ‘Tanvi the Great’ is being screened here. I am eagerly looking forward to my masterclass. I am also excited about the conclave session this evening and tomorrow’s screening.”
He noted that film festivals play a crucial role in bringing people together while also raising awareness about the city’s cultural heritage. Kher commented, “Delhi is a rich and diverse city. Events like this play an important role in its cultural landscape. I feel great to be here.”
Discussing the success of ‘Tanvi the Great,’ he mentioned that the film has completed 25 weeks in theaters, marking its silver jubilee. Kher shared his views on the film’s release strategy, stating, “I believe the film should be shown in limited theaters. The fact that it is being re-released and has run for 25 weeks is fantastic. Besides its release on Amazon Prime, this achievement makes it even more special. We have also created a trophy to distribute.”
When asked about working on OTT platforms, Anupam Kher remarked, “Directors and actors tend to experiment more with their content or acting skills. Great artists will shine on any platform, while poor actors will remain poor. However, there is always a chance for a bad actor to improve.”
