Anna Hazares Health Shows Improvement, Says Bombay Hospital Doctor

Mumbai, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : Dr. Gautam Bhansali from Bombay Hospital provided a positive update on the health of social activist Anna Hazare, who has been hospitalized for nearly a week. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Dr. Bhansali noted that Hazare’s condition is improving after being admitted with viral fever, loose motions, and a kidney infection. His creatinine levels were also elevated upon arrival.

Dr. Bhansali explained that appropriate antibiotics were administered, leading to a favorable response from Hazare. While he initially required oxygen support, his condition has since stabilized. Currently, the 91-year-old activist is in a regular room, eating well, and showing good urine output.

The doctor emphasized that due to Hazare’s age, recovery may take longer as the body’s immune system is less responsive. Although it’s difficult to predict when he will be discharged, Dr. Bhansali highlighted that Hazare has not experienced fever for the past two days, and his creatinine levels have decreased. He is able to converse and share thoughts with the medical staff and is independently using the restroom.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been in touch with the hospital, inquiring about Hazare’s health and even visiting him. Dr. Bhansali reassured that there is no cause for alarm regarding Hazare’s health, but due to his advanced age, caution is necessary. The recovery progress has been encouraging.
