Ankita Lokhande Celebrates Haldi-Kumkum with Friends, Arti Singh Joins Festivities

Mumbai: Popular television actress Ankita Lokhande recently shared a joyous moment from her personal life with fans on social media. During the festival of Makar Sankranti, she hosted a traditional Haldi-Kumkum ceremony at her home, celebrating the occasion with close friends and family.

Haldi-Kumkum is a significant cultural event mainly observed in Maharashtra and South India. It involves married women applying turmeric and vermilion on each other’s foreheads, exchanging gifts, and offering sweets like til-gud, symbolizing good fortune and prosperity. The ceremony is marked by traditional songs, warmth, and the celebration of womanhood and togetherness.

Ankita shared a video of the event on her official Instagram account, where she invited all her married friends to partake in the celebrations. Among the attendees was well-known television actress Arti Singh, who joined Ankita in spreading festive cheer. The gathering was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the spirit of the festival.

In her post, Ankita fondly recalled the lessons from her mother, who always ensured that every festival was celebrated with happiness and unity. She wrote, “My mother never misses a chance to make festivals joyful. Because of her, our family has always celebrated every happiness together. I promise to keep this tradition alive. This Makar Sankranti was especially memorable for me, filled with haldi-kumkum, lots of laughter, the joy of togetherness, and a deep sense of belonging.”

Additionally, Ankita mentioned a special tradition her mother introduced for her son Advait. This year, he celebrated his first Makar Sankranti along with ‘Boreloot,’ a beautiful custom in which elders bless the child by giving gifts, sweets, and new clothes, making the festival memorable for the young one.

Expressing her emotions, Ankita shared that she felt happy, grateful, and surrounded by love during the festivities.
