Mumbai, June 13: Comedian Johnny Lever recently shared a funny incident involving actor Anil Kapoor. During a prank, Anil Kapoor was left quite startled.
On “The Kapil Sharma Show,” host Kapil Sharma asked Johnny if he had ever played a prank over the phone. Johnny recounted a time during the filming of “Tezaab” when he impersonated veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha and called Anil Kapoor.
On the call, Johnny said, “Anil, how are you? Everything okay? Where are you? Let’s meet in the evening. Oh, so you’ve come for the shoot of ‘Tezaab,’ great, great. Let’s meet in the evening.”
A nervous Anil Kapoor could only respond with “Yes, sir, yes, sir.” Seeing Anil’s reaction, Johnny couldn’t contain his laughter. He then revealed that he was not Shatrughan Sinha but Johnny Lever, which left Anil quite annoyed.
Directed by N. Chandra, “Tezaab” starred Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in lead roles. The film also featured Anupam Kher, Chunky Pandey, Aruna Irani, Suprana Anand, Kiran Kumar, Annu Kapoor, Suresh Oberoi, and Tej Sapru in supporting roles.
The music for this romantic entertainer was composed by the famous duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Released on November 11, 1988, “Tezaab” became the highest-grossing Indian film of that year.
Currently, Anil Kapoor is set to play a significant role in the highly anticipated spy thriller “Alpha,” alongside Alia Bhatt, Bobby Deol, and Sharvari. Directed by Shiv Rawail, this film is known as the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe.
In addition to “Alpha,” Anil Kapoor has also signed on for Shah Rukh Khan’s film “King,” directed by Siddharth Anand.
