Anant Singh and Gunjan Singh Granted Relief as Arrest Stay Extended to June 8

Patna, June 5: Bihar’s Mokama JD(U) MLA Anant Singh and singer Gunjan Singh have received significant relief from the court. The court has extended the stay on their arrest until June 8. Lawyer Rajesh Kumar Pathak confirmed this update, stating that both Singh and Gunjan have been granted relief by the court.

Pathak explained that the prosecution had requested time during the last hearing to submit the report regarding the video sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination. The court had set Friday as the date for this submission. However, the prosecution failed to present the FSL report in court. Consequently, Pathak argued for the extension of the stay on the arrest of Anant Singh and Bhojpuri artist Gunjan Singh.

He further noted that no substantial evidence has emerged against Anant Singh and Gunjan Singh that would substantiate the charges filed against them. All sections of the BNS applicable in this case are bailable. Additionally, there has been no recovery or use related to the Arms Act, which is cited in the case. Therefore, the court has scheduled a ruling on this matter for June 8.

Pathak mentioned that the previous stay on the arrest of Gunjan Singh and Anant Singh has now been extended to June 8. Furthermore, the court has granted the same relief to three other petitioners involved in the case, aside from Guddu Rai.

This entire incident is linked to an event held in Semraon village, under the jurisdiction of the Mirganj police station in Gopalganj. A video from this event went viral on social media, showcasing obscene dance performances and the display of weapons. An FIR has been filed against Anant Singh, Gunjan Singh, and others in connection with this incident.
