Kolkata, February 24: Central Home Minister Amit Shah will kick off the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ program on March 1 in the South 24 Parganas district, ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections. This event marks the official launch of the party’s statewide campaign.
According to the schedule, the first ‘Parivartan Yatra’ will commence on the morning of March 1 from the Raigachhi Assembly constituency in South 24 Parganas, where Shah will inaugurate the program and address party workers and supporters.
A member of the BJP state committee revealed that four parallel ‘Parivartan Yatras’ will also begin on the same day from four different Assembly constituencies across the state. These include Cooch Behar South in Cooch Behar district, Krishnanagar South in Nadia district, Kulti in West Bardhaman district, and Garbeta in West Midnapore district.
Following this, on March 2, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will launch another ‘Parivartan Yatra’ from the Sandeshkhali Assembly constituency in North 24 Parganas. The same day, three additional parallel Yatras will start from Islampur in North Dinajpur district, Amta in Howrah district, and Hansan in Birbhum district.
Party leadership stated that these Yatras are part of a massive outreach campaign to connect with voters across all Assembly constituencies in West Bengal ahead of the elections.
In addition to Amit Shah and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, several senior party leaders are expected to participate in the campaign at various stages. This includes BJP National President Nitin Gadkari, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers JP Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, Dharmendra Pradhan, former Union Minister Smriti Irani, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
After the ‘Parivartan Yatra’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address a large rally at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, although the exact date for this rally has yet to be confirmed.
