New Delhi, April 28: Home Minister Amit Shah commended the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for successfully extraditing drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Dola from Turkey on Tuesday. He emphasized that the government’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against drug cartels and narco syndicates remains steadfast, with agencies working diligently in this direction.
In a post on social media platform X, Shah stated, “The NCB has achieved a significant success today by bringing back the notorious drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Dola from Turkey. Under the Modi government’s mission to completely dismantle drug cartels, our anti-narcotics agencies have established a strong network with global agencies, extending their reach across borders. No matter where they hide, there is no safe haven for drug lords.”
Salim Dola, a key figure in the international drug trafficking network, was finally brought back to India on Tuesday. He is believed to have close ties with the infamous Dawood Ibrahim and has been active in drug trafficking for years. Dola was deported at Delhi’s Technical Airport, where intelligence agencies took him into custody.
Sources indicate that this operation was part of a larger initiative involving Indian agencies and international partners. Dola was arrested by local police and intelligence units in Istanbul, Turkey, based on an Interpol Red Corner Notice issued at the request of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Reportedly, Dola was flown to Delhi on a special aircraft and is currently being interrogated. Investigative agencies are gathering information about international drug trafficking and the networks associated with him. As part of the ongoing process, he may be handed over to the NCB in Mumbai for in-depth questioning regarding several related cases.
